Auto-Scroll

Press play and the script scrolls itself, in sync across every window, at a speed you control live.

From 1.3, Multiprompter scrolls the script for you. Press play, read, and every window - editor, preview, and all viewers - moves together at a steady pace.

Starting and stopping

Play and pause live in three places, all equivalent:

Taking back control is instant: scroll any window - wheel, trackpad, or scrollbar - and playback pauses right there, with every window synced to where you grabbed. Press ⌘P to pick up again from that spot.

When the scroll reaches the end of the script it stops on its own. Pressing play again at the end starts over from the top.

Speed

The speed slider runs from 0.2× to 6×, where 1× paces a typical speaking rate. Change it any time - before you start or while it’s scrolling - from the editor, a viewer, or the keyboard (⇧⌘. faster, ⇧⌘, slower). Your speed persists across launches.

Speed is measured in the window you read from: the scroll holds a steady visual pace in the viewer you last clicked, and the other windows stay locked to the same line of the script.

Count-in

By default, pressing play shows a 3-second countdown in every window before the scroll starts moving - time to get your hand off the keyboard and your eyes on the lens. Change the length or turn it off in Settings (⌘,). Pausing or scrolling during the count cancels it.
